Introduction

This document will show some IOS-XR commands which can be used to troubleshooting packet forwarding over the ASR9K chassis, in particular troubleshooting for transit, exception and local traffic.

Traffic Types

Troubleshooting of packet forwarding with the ASR9K platform can be divided into three types: transit packets, exception generating and internal packets.

Internal

Internal packets are destined to the RP's CPU.
