BTI ROADM

Introduction

Models

  • BTI has three type of ROADMs. They can either be 2D or 4D:
    • 2D with 40 channel with 100Ghz channel spacing.
    • 4D with 40 channel with 100Ghz channel spacing.
    • 4D with 96 channel with 50Ghz channel spacing.

2D 40 Ch

  • 2 bidirectional client ports.
  • Uses 100Ghz channel spacing.
  • Can switch up to 40 wavelengths.

4D 40 Ch

  • 4 bidirectional client ports.
  • Used when 3 or 4 network spans intersect.
  • Uses 100 Ghz channel spacing.
  • Can switch up to 40 wavelengths.

4D 96 Ch

  • 4 bidirectional client ports.
  • Used when 3 or 4 network spans intersect.
  • Uses 50 Ghz channel spacing.
  • Can switch up to 96 wavelengths.
  • Is incapable with any of the 40ch parts like mux/dmux or 40ch ROADMs.

ROADM Nodes

  • ROADMs can be configured to act as a number of nodes:
    • ROADM Node
    • ROADM Terminal
    • Line Equalizing Node
