MPLS LDP Targeted LDP Session
Introduction
There are two ways of establishing LDP peering: basic discovery mechanism and extended discovery mechanism. Basic discovery is use with directly connected sessions, while extended discovery is used with targeted LDP sessions. Targeted sessions are peerings between LDP enabled routers multiple hops away.
LDP Targeted Sessions
- Targeted sessions are manually configures for multi-hop sessions.
- Generally they are used for:
- MPLS TE
- AToM
- Session Protection
